Andy Warhol: Photographer

The photographic work of Andy Warhol is currently hosted at the Danziger Gallery in New York through a display of 143 unique prints, focusing on all the varieties of the iconic artist's photographic output. Although photography was the corner stone of Warhol's paintings, however it's his less known work aspect. Taken in photo booths or with a Polaroid, the exhibited images, never editioned or re-printed, feature some of the twentieth century most emblematic figures with John Lennon, Sylvester Stallone, Carolina Herrera, Dennis Hopper, Liza Minelli and Diana Ross among them, along with dramatic figures of New York City trannies and portraits of Warhol himself.

The Orchid Show

The New York Botanical Garden for its 10th annual Orchid Show presents the Vertical Garden Creations of designer Patrick Blanc, highlighting thousands of colourful orchids. The world-renowned French botanist and artist transformed the garden's Conservatory into a tropical paradise with his extravagant towering "green walls" made by a colourful palette of all kinds of orchids and companion plants in an explosion of alluring design and perfumes. Blanc's living tapestries are an innovative ode to contemporary hortoculture and have been commissioned for cityscapes, interiors, museum exhibitions and fashion shows worldwide. One of his most famous projects is the facade of the Quai Branly Museum in Paris.

Iris Van Herpen at Groninger Museum

The first solo exhibition of iconic fashion designer Iris Van Herpen is presented at the Groninger Museum offering an overview of her work from 2008 until today. The awarded designer greaduated from the ArtEz Institute of Arts in Arhem in 2006 and just after that she had the chance to do an internship at Alexander McQueen. In 2007 she started her own label meant to become one of the most inspiring worldwide. Iris Van Herpen is famous for her sculptural, futuristic creations based on innovative sewing techniques and exquisite craftmanship.
To accompany the exhibition, the first book on Iris van Herpen will be published. This volume contains an overview of all her collections up to the present, as well as an essay by fashion journalist Jean Paul Cauvin. The book will be issued in conjunction with BAi Publishers.

The exhibition will last by the 23rd September 2012.

An art and fashion exhibition from women only will be hosted at Showstudio Shop from the 22^nd of March, as a tribute to female form and personality. Despite the constant rising of women in various professional fields, statistics show that their participation in the fields of fashion and art is really low. At the Museum of Modern Art, only 8% of the work exhibited are created by women. Tate features just a 15% of female artists. In Film women hold only 33% of all speaking roles and 7% as Directors. In Fashion, most of the major campaigns are created by men.
 The most impressive clue is that there are ONLY three industries in which women earn more than men – Pornography, Prostitution and Modelling. While all proves that the female image, either artistic or commercial, is mostly created by men, Showstudio had the brilliant idea on working the opposite: an exhibition where female artists give their own interpretation on femininity and their own perspective about sex. Curated by Nick Knight with Carrie Scott and the Showstudio team  and with the participation of many reknown Fine Artists, Photographers, Film Makers and Fashion Designers, the exhibition will show a wide range of exciting works, including a series of live streams,  projects and performances.

Yves Saint Laurent: The Retrospective

Fourty years of Yves Saint Laurent's creative journey are hosted at the Denver Art Museum, through an awsome retrospective exhibition opening March the 25th. The exhibition features over 200 haute couture garments along with numerous and rare photographs, sketches and films, highlighting the designer's life and style development from his first days in Dior until his magnificent creations in 2002.

The exhibition will be on view through July 8, 2012

The17th exhibition of the Fondation Pierre Berge – Yves Saint Laurent is devoted to the Japanese Theatre costumes, known as Kabuki. The exhibition is the first of its kind ever held in Paris and features a wide selection of beautiful costumes from the Shôchiku Costume accompanied by accessories, engravings, photographs and documentary footage, offering a full analysis of this great Japanese dramatic art.

Diana Vreeland After Diana Vreeland

The first individual exhibition dedicated to the the extravagant figure of legendary fashion icon Diana Vreeland is starting on the 10th of March, 2012 at the Palazzo Fortuni in Venice. The famous muse, fashion editor of Harper's Bazaar, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue and special consultant of the Costume Institute and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, has been among the most inspiring personalities in the history of fashion with a nonpareil and recognizable style. The exhibition is hosting a large number of Diana's wardrobe pieces including iconic creations from Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Christobal Balenciaga, Emilio Pucci, Missoni, Elsa Schiaparelli and more.
